QUINT: FROM STREET ART TO CANVAS

Though he always had a love for art, Quint found himself gravitating specifically towards creating urban art. So it was only fitting that when he came to Bali, with his signature stencil and spray paint in tow, he became one of the first artists who helped revitalize the fascinating street art scene on the island. The women Quint paints, whose rebellious yet high femininity contrast the concrete walls, are all good friends of the artist. The figures, who often gaze at the viewer with cheeky expressions, seemingly represent his way of taunting the authorities who were unable to catch him on the act of tagging the walls. Quint’s stencil art make use of 4 layers of extremely detailed stencils which are hand cut by the artist himself, even when creating larger statement pieces on commercial buildings. The striking women, animals, and flowers graced on Quint’s walls and canvases are his reminder for the busy streets of Bali to always seek out the beauty among us. Now his works not only adorn the streets of Canggu and Seminyak, but can also be found in the world’s bustling creative hubs, such as Tokyo, Paris and Berlin.
